Smile fish

This tutorial will teach you how to create a smile fish. If you want to get the same result then you should exactly follow the instructions. The ZigZag filter is very sensitive for the shape size and location.

Tool: Photoshop CS2
Level: Beginner
Duration: 10 min.
Preconditions: None
Preview: preview

Step 1.
Create a new document with size 400x400.

Step 2.
Create a new layer and select it. Set the foreground color to #ed9c1c

Step 3.
Select the Ellipse tool and draw a regular circle with 190x190px.

Step 4.
To make the positioning of the circle more easy you can display grids. View->Show->Grid
Move the circle to the location you can see below.

Step 5.
Now select the Filter->Distort->ZipZag... tool and set the preferences as follows.

Step 6.
Now you can hide the grids and rotate the shape to the right position.

Step 7.
Set some layer properties to make the result much better.
